Enmity

FriendsWe can’t stand alone

So, we choose a side

We don’t know which one

But we hope we’re right

Face to face and now armed

We cry aloud and run

In our sights, our enemy

In our minds, a farce

No longer friends, brothers

No longer our lovers

Betrayed by those closest

Loyalties part further

Patch up those wounds

The ones on our flesh

The wounds on our heart

Those will scar anew

Were these mistakes, follies?

Or were we right all along?

It’s too late to go back

Broken promises abound

There’s no turning back now

Boundaries  are crossed; broken

Taken up arms against lovers

Our friendship’s been stolen
